Long article on the road from Upper Mattole south to Westport. Frank Mckee + his wife in that area in 1871. The column 4 induced a competition between 2 roads to Eureka from this area. One is via Whitethorn, Garberville , Rohnerville and the other is via upper Mattole, Petrolia, Ferndale.
