Text: Aug 11, 1855 The B.O.S. decided on the location of roads from Arcata to Mad River. The Preston Road was declared to be a highway as far as the NE corner of Christensen's field, the road then forking - one branch going to Nixon's ferry and the other to the lower crossing of Mad River.
