Short history on the Port of Eureka by H.W. Hamilton, U.S. Collector of Customs. Under an act of Congress on July 1, 1870. Eureka was designated a port of delivery in the customs district of S.F. Ultimately Eureka was designated a port of entry with S.F. as the headquarters port of the customs district of S.F.
