Text: The Society of Hum. Co. Pioneers will present a resolution to the B.O.S. opposing the planned removal of the courthouse tower. The B.O.S. appropriated $60,000 for the project. The resol. noted the Feb. 1939 issue of National Geographic contained a photo of the courthouse with a caption, "the red ball on top of the courthouse lighted by night is visible across Hum. Bay and far out to sea." The newspaper of Aug. 13, 1945 noted the Bel. planned this removal.
