Text: Speegle Column. Old pre 1906 photo off the Co. Courthouse. The article details the damage to the Ct. Hs. in the 1906 quake and damage to the cupola portion from a fire. He mentions the famous ball on top which at times is lighted thus helping guide mariners. The Ct. house was first occupied in 1886. The Co. Jail was on its lower floor in the northern end.
