Text: Article on storm & flood damages and a short piece on the 1861-1862 flood. The Humboldt times of 11/30/1861 said it rained for 60 hours and Mad river was 18" higher than ever before. On Feb.22, Dr. Kirkpatrick, USA, said a gov. rain gauge at Ft Gaston showed 92.55 inches of rain fell from Dec. 22, 1861 to Feb. 8, 1862.
