Text: "A Story of Industry" by Earl Roberts. The time is Sept. 1903, E.H. Vance had recently reopened the Vance Hotel. A group of committee members had gathered there to announce the opening operations of the Hum. Transit Co. The electric trolley sys. for which that Eurekans had waited for a long time was about to begin. The trolley cars were on the way aboard the steamer North Fork. The first cars began running the morning of Sept. 16th, 1903. The builders of the new line were J.C. Bull and George Henderson.
