Place: Eel River Salt River Port Kenyon

Text: Captain Johnston made a survey of Eel River bar & mouth and Salt river up to Pont Kenyon. He was surprised at the depth of water over the bar and in Salt river. The steamer Whitelaw should be able to come in to Port Kenyon by Sept. 1 by which time the new wharf about to be commenced will be completed.
