Text: R.F. Horrick ampleted his survey for extending the Arcata & Mad river railroad 4 miles from Warren creek to Blue Lake. The route follows up the south bank of Mad river from Warren creek to Skedaddle, and crosses the river just above the mouth of Lindsay creek. At that point there are 2 rocks, one on each side of the river, the one on the north side being in the stream, but near enough to the bank to be available for a bridge. From there the railroad route counted up the north bank over land owned by Murphy until it strikes Norton's land. It then strikes across the bottom, through a corner of Scott's place, running near the old schoolhouse through Chartin's land to Blue Lake.
