Text: "Surveys Completed on North Coast Water Sites By State" Prelim engrg & geotechnical reconn of dams & reservoir sites in the Smith, Klamath, Trinity, Mad, & Van Duzen River basins, totalling 85 sites, has been completed. Edward Hyatt, state Engr also said similar investigations have been conducted on 26 sites on the Eel, 9 on coastal streams and six on the Russian River. These investiq are about 50% completed. It was pointed out that the NC contains some 16,000 mi2 (10% of the state ) and its streams produce 27,000,000 AF which = 37% of the state's run-off.
