At the end of her columa Susie Baker Fountain states a San Francisco reporter traveled through Northern CA in 1871 and wrote up a good description of what he saw on the Klamath River in the "Daily Evening Bulletin" of San Francisco. Copies of the series were provide to Susie Baker Fountain by the Bancroft Library.
