There was a jubilee celebration for Mrs. Zadie Axe who has been a member of the Methodist Church. Her mother, Mrs. Elvira Ann Howard crossed the Plains with her father, Major Elijah Howard, arriving in S.F. in Sept. 1849. The Howard family came to Hum. Co. in April 1850 and settled at Howard's Point. Her husband was Fred Axe, formerly postmaster of Eureka.
