Thomas G. Greig, founder of Greigs Resort on the Eel died. Born in Petersboro, Ontario Aug 7, 1845, came to Fortuna shortly after 1869, opened a livery stable, and later ran the Springville Hotel. He was elected County Coroner and public administrator, served 2 terms, then established Greigs Resort which became famous for fishermen. He is survived by his son, Thomas Greig, Jr. of Fortuna.
