Text: Three photos & brief article on the HCHS tour of the Mattole. 104 year old Sam Kelsey gave a talk to the group at the Mattole Grange. He came to Humboldt county in 1884 and was involved in the tang war bullet which resulted in the expelling of all Chinese. He helped stop a mass hanging of Chinese. The caravan included 85 cars with > 300 people.
