Text: The tower on the courthouse is to be removed. The B.O.S. yesterday, authorized Frank Georgeson to drew up plans for remodeling the tower at $60,000. After the 1906 quake, Minerva was removed & replaced with a ball with a red light on it that could be seen from far out to sea. With the outbreak of WWII the red light was shut off. The B.O.S. was concerned the tower would be dangerous during an earthquake.
