Text: Chief Engr for NWP, Edes, said that track has been laid about 3 miles north out of Willits so far at the southern end. Grading is ongoing on the next 10 miles. He noted removing redwood trees from the R/W at the northern end is very difficult, being big and unyielding. He said it's very hard to secure men to work on the RR. The workman are sort of a floating population and only seem to work a few days and not more than 20% of those employed remain.
