Text: Whale season ended last weekend. Gib Hunter of Fields Landing caught a total of 20 whales with the Dennis Gayle boat while Herman Foland brought in 18. The whales were processed into oil, feed and fertilizers at the Maritime Industries plant operated by Max Hoffman of Eureka at Fields Landing.
