Text: Whole page on Arcata Redwood company on 101 across from Murray Field. The project began about 2 yrs ago. Mercer Fraser filled in about 12 acres with dirt from Brainard's Cut. Since then several 1000 c.y. of gravel have been brought in & a 1500' foot railroad spur was construction. The well for providing fresh water to their water tower & tank is 370' deep & flows like an artesian well constantly. Several photos in the article by Amos R. Tinkey.
