Whole page on life history of Doug Pine, Farm Advisor. His father, Safford Pine, came to Humboldt County in 1874. Later on he along with A.W. Randall bought a tract of land near the present foundry which became known as Pine's Pastures Addition. Later he moved to Elk River and continued in his milk business on a 340 acre farm which became known as the Pine Hill Ranch. The old Pine home is still there today and the ranch is now made up of numerous homes. Doug was born in 1884 and lived in the old Pine Hill home until 1914 when his father, Safford, sold out.
