Text: Whole page of photos and text on the station on the North Spit. The Navy authorized the establishment of the Eureka Section base in the early part of 1941 and placed it in commission on Nov. 18, 1941. The job of the base was to provide fuel and equipment and making repairs to aircraft guarding this area of the coast.
