He mentions the flood of Jan. 13 & 14, as fairly savere, Also mentions the island of gravel & willis upstream the bridge; flood control by a dam that only will occur if outside (southern) people need the water. The bridge is 2500' feet long (DT note- I think it's 1200' feet) and cost the people of Humboldt county $245,979. George Conner desiged it & Jack Willison built it.
