Whole page on Six River National Forests. All its lands drain directly to the Pacific Ocean. The idea began in 1935 by a U.S. Forest man named S.B. Shaw. The name Six Rivers National Forests was conceived by Peter B. Kyne, author of "Valley of the Giants."
