Text: Will N. Seegle gave a talk to the 20 - 30 Club at the Vance Hotel last night. He noted several historical items of Eureka - such as the peak number of Saloons reached 69. At that point the city fathers decided that was too many - so - over time they closed down any that went out of business & got the number down to 45. He said it was not unusual to see 35 - 40 sailing vessels landing up lumber at the mills. There were automobiles.
