Will Speegles column. He describes the well known photo of the portion of Eureka that is a view south of the northern end of g st at 3rd st. The little bldg. in front on the right is the pioneer school house that sat on the SW corner of 3rd and G. This spot was later occupied by the Eureka City Hall. The church is the first congregational church and it sat at 4th and g where, now, in 1947, the service station joins the state theater property. Across the street (G) from the church were small bldgs. Later these became the home of C.S. Ricks facing G st. Not far east of his home was the first water supply system of the Ricks Water Co. It consisted of a large well.
