Text: William Archerson, well know ferryman at mouth Redwood creek, died on April 24, 1888. He called for an Indian living close by to go get Rabert Swan just before he died. Robert Swan saddled up his mule and rode down to William's cabin. The first rise of the "Northern Advocate", a 6 column weekly published in Blue Lake was received by the Weekly Humboldt Times. The daily "Western Watchman" will soon begin publishing a newspaper in Eureka.
