Text: Work will begin in 2 or 3 days on the portion of the Beatrice-Eureka link that runs from the Pine Ranch to Elk Riv. school. This section crosses the Elk River marsh. 20 head of horses will be on the ground today. The piece across the marsh is about one mile in length. The plan is grade it, let it settle over the winter, then pave it next spring. This new road will eliminate the Elk Riv corner and the drive along the Elk River Slough.
