🍀Join us for our Lucky to Be... Event!
We invite you to join us for a bite and a light refreshment as you take a few moments to write a note to a co-worker or campus friend. Tell them why you're lucky to be their colleague, teammate, or friend. Share your appreciation for their hard work or simply brighten their day with a few kind works.
Staff council will deliver your notes later in the week.

Day/Time: Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 from 12:00pm-1:30pm
Where: The Banquet Hall (SAC 131) in between the Depot and Cypress dorms.

Staff Halloween Potluck - Oct 31st
Staff Council hosted a Halloween themed potluck in the Goodwin Forum where staff were encouraged to dress in costume, bring a dish to share, enjoy some treats, and have a little Halloween fun. Aside from mingling, staff was able to vote for their favorite costumes.
Staff Ice Cream Social - Sept 25th
In front of Van Matre Hall (adjacent to lot S7) Staff Council gave out Ice Cream to campus staff. Beyond the sweet treats, folks where able to enjoy a bay view and reflect of the first month of the semester together.
Door Decorating Contest
Staff Council and the Campus Traditions Committee invited all departments to don creative hats to decorate their department doors in celebration of all things Cal Poly Humboldt!
Door Decoration Contest Winners:

- Spookiest: College of Extended Education

Staff Halloween Potluck
It was that time of year for costumes, fun, and some Halloween treats! The Staff Council invited staff to a Staff Halloween Potluck on Thursday, October 31st from noon to 2 PM at the Great Hall.
We had a spooky lineup for the day:
- Halloween-themed potluck
- Costume Contest with prizes
- Drinks and desserts were provided!
We celebrated the spirit of Halloween together with good food, fun costumes, and great company.
Plant Exchange
We invited folks for the Annual Staff Appreciation Week Plant Exchange!
We shared some greenery with colleagues, and encouraged folks to start rooting a few houseplant cuttings or potting up extra plants from their gardens.
Staff dropped by to adopt a plant, enjoy some fresh air, and connect with colleagues from across campus.
Games in the Redwood Bowl
Staff Council invited folks to come out and play! 🌟 Whether they were feeling competitive or just wanted to soak up the sun with a walk around the field, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
End Of Year Staff Appreciation Event
Our amazing colleagues gathered at the Arcata Community Center on Thursday, June 5th, 4-7pm for the annual End-of-Year Staff Appreciation Event.
We had food, fun raffle prizes, and recognition of our staff who had been with the university for 5, 10, 20, 30, and 30+ years! DJ Goldilocks spun some vinyl for us yet again and folks enjoyed an evening of camaraderie
