Student Fee Transparency

One of the major goals of SFAC is to provide student fee transparency in a way that is easy and accessible. Below you will find student fees with their intended purpose, as well as expenditure reports.

Category II Fees - Campus-Based Mandatory Fees

Health Facilities FeeRevenue from the Health Facilities Fee provides for the acquisition, construction, and improvement of student health facilities projects pursuant to Cal. Educ. Code § 89702.TBA
Health Services FeeRevenue from the Health & Wellness Fee shall be used to support Student Health Center operations pursuant to the Policy on University Health Services.TBA
Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) FeeRevenue from the Instructionally Related Activities Fee shall be used to support instructionally related activities as authorized by the trustees pursuant to Cal. Educ. Code § 89230.TBA, 2025-26 Budget
Materials, Services, and Facilities (MSF) Fee

Revenue from Materials, Services, and Facilities fees shall be used to provide materials, services, and facilities as provided by Cal. Educ. Code § 89700. Pursuant to the Student Tuition and Fee Policy, the chancellor has authorized the campus to establish the following MSF fee(s):

  • Campus ID Card Fee
  • Freshman Orientation Fee
  • Materials, Services & Facilities Fee

Student Body Association FeeRevenue from the Student Body Association shall be used to provide essential activities closely related to, but not normally included as a part of, the regular instructional program of the university as defined in Cal. Educ. Code § 89300.TBA, 2025-26 Budget
