Partner Programs
TRiO Talent Search collaborates with organizations on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus, and throughout Humboldt and Del Norte County in order to serve our diverse student populations. Below are some of our key partners, along with links to learn more about each of these incredible organizations. We are open to working with our community, and welcome new opportunities for collaboration.
California Polytechnic University - Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt is our local California State University (CSU) and offers incredible programs that we encourage our students to explore.
We partner with the Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence and support programs housed at Humboldt. The centers and support programs include:
- African American Center for Academic Excellence (AACAE)
- Latinx Center for Academic Excellence (LCAE), the
- MultiCultural Center (MCC), and the
- Native American Center for Academic Excellence (ITEPP).
- Indian Natural Resources, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP)
We encourage our students to join support programs and take advantage of the resources listed below:
- Educational Opportunity Program and Student Support Services (EOPS/SSS)
- Student Disability resource Center (SDRC)
We also collaborate with Humboldt Admissions, Housing and Residence Life, and Retention through Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP).
College of the Redwoods
College of the Redwoods is our local California Community College, located in Eureka, with satellite locations in Del Norte and Klamath-Trinity. Many of our students go on to attend academic programs at CR, and we encourage our students to join support programs and take advantage of the resources listed below:
- TRIO Student Success Program
- Disability Services and Programs for Students
- Educational Opportunity Program (EOPS/CARE)
We also collaborate with CR Admissions, Financial Aid, Counseling and Advising, and the Multicultural and Diversity Center.
Cal Poly Humboldt & CR TRIO Upward Bound
TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded college preparatory program designed to generate the skills and motivation necessary for postsecondary educational success among limited income high school students whose parents do not hold a four year college degree. We work with both the Cal Poly Humboldt Upward Bound program, and the College of the Redwoods Upward Bound program, which serve students in Humboldt, Trinity, and Del Norte counties.
Humboldt County of Education (HCOE)
HCOE offers a number of incredible programs that many of our students benefit from and participate in. A few programs that we want to highlight are:
- College Connect - a chance for students to visit college classes at Humboldt or CR
- Trades Academy - a program that builds on existing high school career technical education and provides additional opportunities to explore options
- Health Career Exploration Project - an opportunity for high school students to explore healthcare career options Cal-SOAP - support offered through College Success Coaching and Cash for College workshops
