Good morning everyone, and happy Monday. It was wonderful to see so many of you at the campus holiday party this past Friday. I am really looking forward to celebrating our graduates with each of you at Commencement this coming Friday, December 19, 2025.

Interim Provost Announcement this Week

A campus announcement will be made this week naming the Interim Provost who will lead Academic Affairs upon my departure to Cabrillo College in January. I am very proud of the work we have done in Academic Affairs over the years and I feel confident the leadership transition will be smooth.

Information Technology Services (ITS) Project Prioritization Cycle Update

The Fall 2025 ITS Project Prioritization cycle is now complete, and results have been shared with all project sponsors and submitters. Each proposal went through an annual review and prioritization process, which included the steering committee, divisional vice presidents, and the President’s Executive Cabinet. This year’s process wrapped up more quickly than in prior years, thanks to clearer submissions, stronger coordination with divisional leadership, and timely engagement throughout each phase of the cycle. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this a more efficient and effective effort for the ITS Project Office. Thank you also to ITS Project Coordinators Kathy Hudson, Phil Rouse, and Courtney Loder for all of your hard work managing the process and projects. Nominate An Outstanding Student: Deadline: February 13, 2026

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Student Awards (OSA) at Cal Poly Humboldt! The Outstanding Student Awards have been a tradition at Humboldt since 1950 are a great opportunity to recognize students who have made exceptional contributions to our campus and community. The awards celebrate achievements in Academic Excellence, Co-Curricular Involvement, and more. The awards ceremony honoring the dedication and impact of our students will take place on April 14, 2026 at 3 pm in the Kate Buchanan Room.

If you know a student who embodies excellence and leadership, please consider submitting a nomination! The deadline to nominate is February 13, 2026 by 5pm.
