Good morning and happy Wednesday. I hope that your week is going well. I can’t believe we’ve already hit the halfway point in the week.
College of Extended Education and Global Engagement (CEEGE) Leadership Change
Cindy Bumgarner, Dean of CEEGE recently made the difficult decision to step down as Dean effective Friday, April 25, 2025 and take the voluntary separation offer (VSIP). She will work on some special projects for me through December 2025. In the interim, Deserie Donae and Sei Hee Hwang will co-lead the college as we engage in strategic planning for the college. 12th Annual ideaFest, Friday, May 2, 2025
The 12th Annual ideaFest is Friday, May 2, 2025, from 2 to 5 pm, throughout all floors of the library. This extraordinary event highlights the innovation, research, and creativity of our students, faculty, and staff, showcasing their dedication over the past academic year.
This year’s event kicks off with a performance by the Marching Lumberjacks and will feature nearly 200 poster presenters, live musical, theater, and dance performances, film screenings, sculpture walks, CIRM lightning talks, a Maker & New Media Showcase, and more! Exciting new additions are the Transfer Student Showcase, and we are honored to feature live Zoom presentations from Cal Poly Humboldt Communication students at Pelican Bay Prison. 2025 Art Graduates Awards Ceremony and Exhibition through May 17, 2025
The Reese Bullen Gallery at Cal Poly Humboldt proudly presents the 2025 Art Graduates Exhibition, showcasing the achievements of graduating Art majors and minors across a wide range of media, including painting, ceramics, photography, and more.
A special Awards Reception will be held this Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4–7 p.m., coinciding with the Art + Film Open House. The reception will feature a Permanent Collection Purchase Prize, Viewers Choice Award, and additional prizes.
