April 24, 2026
Dear Colleagues,
Today marks just 8 days until the WSCUC Review Team arrives on campus! In partnership with the Office of Marketing & Communications, we will continue to keep you informed about opportunities to engage with this important visit. I encourage you to join us for the WSCUC Accreditation Site Visit presentation and preparation session on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.
While the WSCUC Site Visit has taken center stage this spring, our core work continues. I am pleased to share that, through the collaborative efforts of the College of Extended Education and the Office of Academic Resources, the University will continue the Summer Cost Assistance Program for the Summer 2026 term.
Summer 2026 Cost Assistance Program
Most students who enroll in at least 6 or more stateside units may receive tuition coverage for up to 3 units. This means students can get a discount on their summer tuition without needing to apply or qualify for other financial aid programs.
Not all programs and fees are covered by the Cost Assistance Program. To see which ones are included, please visit Summer Aid. All students, regardless of the number of units they take, will be charged a flat rate of $481 for Summer Mandatory Campus-based fees. While eligibility varies, if the student qualifies for financial aid, it may cover their entire summer tuition and fees.
If you or any students have questions about the Cost Assistance Program, summer financial aid or any other financial aid questions please reach out to the Financial Aid Office for assistance at finaid@humboldt.edu.

Please note: Seating is limited. We are nearing capacity on Monday (5/11) and Wednesday (5/13). Student Deadline for Scheduling Finals: Friday (4/24)
Accessibility Note: To ensure students with approved accommodations have equitable access during Finals Week, some may need to schedule exams at alternate times or dates due to Testing Center capacity. Learning Innovation for Future-Forward Teaching (LIFT) Call for Proposals
The Chancellor’s Office of Academic Affairs has announced its launch of the Learning Innovation for Future-Forward Teaching (LIFT) Call for Proposals. LIFT invites faculty individually or in teams to design and test teaching innovations that intentionally embed durable skills into undergraduate courses and programs to prepare students to learn, adapt and thrive in 21st century work and life.
The guidelines encourage applicants to consult with campus leadership early and to prepare a brief project description for your signature as part of the required support documentation. The disciplinary focus of LIFT is broad and includes interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Proposals require approval from the department chair, dean, and provost in advance of submission. Application routing prior to submission through Sponsored Programs Foundation is required by May, 22, 2026. Proposal support is provided by SPF Pre-Award Specialists. Additional information can be found at this link: Funding & Proposal Support. Please see the attached Call for Proposals attached, and linked here: CSU LIFT CFP 2026 FINAL.pdf. Applications are due June 1, 2026 by 5:00 pm via the LIFT portal.
Sincerely,
Shawna Young
