Happy Wednesday,
I hope your semester is off to a great start.
Woo Hoo! Celebrating 20 Years of OLLI at Cal Poly Humboldt!
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Humboldt has been connecting the community and campus through lifelong learning for 20 years. Housed in the College of Extended Education & Global Engagement, the purpose of OLLI is to provide meaningful, non-credit, educational opportunities to our community of people aged "50 and better". Current and retired Cal Poly Humboldt faculty and staff can become OLLI members for just $25 a year, providing access to discounted OLLI classes and member benefits. Fall OLLI classes begin September 15, 2025.
An Open House will be held on Saturday, September 6, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Great Hall, where attendees can learn more about upcoming courses and membership opportunities.
Campus & Community Dialogue on Race: October 20-24, 2025
The Campus & Community Dialogue on Race (CDOR) is a week-long series of events that brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to explore pressing issues of racial justice and systemic inequity. Now in its 27th year, CDOR continues to be a space of reflection, learning, healing, and collective action.
The inclusive platform serves to affirm cultural identities, uplift historically marginalized voices, and welcome people of all backgrounds into a shared space of growth and transformation. Whether you're attending a session, submitting a proposal, or leading an event, you are part of a community seeking change through connection and care.
Proposal submissions are due by September 10, 2025. For more information about how to submit a proposal, click here.
Students can earn one unit of elective credit with ES 317 (CR# 41407)
This year’s theme is: dis/connecting to reconnect: everyday rest, refusal, resistances is a call to action and a call to pause. It invites us to critically examine the systems and rhythms that shape our lives, and to create space for restoration, healing, and reconnection.
