Provost Communication, Wednesday, December 10, 2025

December 15, 2025

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I hope everyone is having a great week. By now I am assuming you saw the campus message that went out yesterday announcing that I have accepted the role of President at Cabrillo College starting on January 20, 2026. I have so much gratitude and appreciation for Cal Poly Humboldt and all that we have accomplished together over the past 5.5 years. I look forward to many moments over the next several weeks to work on transition planning, celebrate, connect, and be in community with each of you. There is so much to be thankful for and I am truly excited for Cal Poly Humboldt and the future ahead. More information is coming soon with regard to a plan for an Interim Provost before a national search for the permanent Provost is launched.

Spring 2026 Syllabus Library

It is time again to update the Syllabus Library! According to the Syllabus Policy Number P23-04, Section II, A: “The Office of Academic Programs shall maintain a Syllabus Resources website with updated information about

syllabus requirements, accessible templates, a link to the syllabus policy and the Syllabus Addendum website, and other relevant information.” The Syllabus Repository is updated every fall, semester, and summer term with course syllabi. The repository is a publicly available archive organized primarily by department.

All faculty should send their accessible Spring 2026 course syllabi to their department Administrative Support Coordinator no later than January 23, 2026, or, the first Friday of instruction for the term. The Syllabus Resources website has a syllabus template and recommendations, including how to create accessible content

Modern Campus Curriculum (MCC/Curriculog) will be closed to new proposals until March 2026

From January–March 2026, Modern Campus Curriculum (MCC/Curriculog) will be closed to new proposals while the Curriculum Office updates workflows and templates to better support faculty, streamline ICC review, and improve clarity in the shared governance curriculum process. Current-cycle proposals using the 2025 templates will continue moving forward based on their place in the workflow. Faculty working on curriculum during this period are encouraged to contact the Curriculum Office (curriculum@humboldt.edu) for support with offline tasks such as forms, syllabi, curricular decisions, and department or interdepartmental review. Additional support materials are available on the recently revamped Curriculum Development Resources Page.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week.

Sincerely,

Jenn Capps
