Share Your Humboldt Story. Inspire the Next Generation.
The Cal Poly Humboldt Alumni Ambassador Program connects passionate alumni with future Lumberjacks. As an Alumni Ambassador, you’ll represent Humboldt in your local community by sharing your experience, pride, and love for our university with prospective students and their families.
Whether you attend a college fair, refer a future student, or spread the word about Humboldt on social media, your voice makes a difference. Together, we can show what makes Cal Poly Humboldt a place where students thrive, explore, and belong.
Program Overview
The Office of Admissions leads Humboldt’s undergraduate recruitment efforts, collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to share the university’s story. Our Alumni Ambassadors are vital partners in this work—volunteers who bring authenticity and enthusiasm to every interaction.
Ambassadors help communicate accurate and consistent messages about Humboldt’s programs, community, and opportunities. Through a brief orientation and ongoing support, you’ll gain the tools and knowledge to confidently engage with prospective students and families.
You don’t need to be an admissions expert, just bring your Humboldt pride and a willingness to connect.
The Alumni Ambassador Role
As an Alumni Ambassador, you are the face of Humboldt in your community. Your enthusiasm and authenticity help prospective students see what’s possible at Humboldt and remind them that our alumni network is vibrant and growing across the world.
You’ll help inspire the next generation of students by:
- Representing Cal Poly Humboldt at college fairs, regional events, and virtual sessions
- Sharing your personal experiences and professional journey
- Connecting with and referring prospective students to apply
- Promoting Humboldt on your social media and within your network
Responsibilities
As an Alumni Ambassador, you’ll:
- Participate in volunteer opportunities throughout the year
- Stay informed about key Admissions updates and campus highlights
- Attend orientation and training sessions
- Maintain professionalism and uphold Humboldt’s values of respect, integrity, and compassion
- Be a positive role model for the university community
Your commitment helps strengthen the Humboldt family and ensures that every future student hears an inspiring, accurate, and heartfelt message about what it means to be a Lumberjack.
