Georgina Cerda Salvarrey, M.Ed.

Lecturer

I am a first-generation Mexican woman, educator, and scholar whose work is grounded in the intersections of race, language, class, and education. Growing up in a working-class family in Mexico and later immigrating to the United States has shaped my understanding of marginalization, belonging, and the transformative power of education. My experiences navigating different cultural and educational contexts inform my commitment to creating more equitable educational spaces and centering the voices and experiences of communities of color. Through my research and practice, I strive to challenge dominant narratives, remain critically reflexive, and use education as a pathway toward empowerment and social transformation.
