Explores ethical challenges in accounting and finance through case studies, contemporary issues, and professional standards. Emphasizes the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice and AICPA Code of Ethical reasoning frameworks.
Learning Outcomes
Students completing BA 456 will be able to:
- Explain major ethical frameworks relevant to accounting.
- Apply professional ethical standards (integrity, competence, confidentiality, credibility).
- Analyze ethical dilemmas in budgeting, reporting, and managerial decision making.
- Evaluate ethical implications of technology and data use in accounting.
- Demonstrate ethical reasoning through written and applied case analyses.
Registration will open May 26 through Open University for summer 2026 enrollment.
Enrollment in this College of Extended Education Certificate program is for students who are not currently attending Cal Poly Humboldt.
