A directed study experience focused on professional development and career exploration in accounting and related fields. Students may design an FMAA study plan, conduct informational interviews, prepare a professional portfolio, or complete other approved projects.

Students completing BA 499 will be able to:

1. Identify multiple career pathways within accounting and finance.
2. Compare professional certification options (FMAA, CMA, CPA).
3. Develop a personalized professional development and credentialing plan.
4. Produce résumé, LinkedIn, or portfolio materials aligned with career goals.
5. (Optional) Create a structured study plan mapped to FMAA exam content areas.
    

Enrollment in this College of Extended Education Certificate program is for students who are not currently attending Cal Poly Humboldt.
