Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work (PPSC-SSW)
This online summer program builds upon the MSW curriculum by providing specialized instruction to develop the knowledge, skills, and values required to effectively provide social work services within public school systems. Social workers who successfully complete the program will be eligible to apply to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work.
The PPSC-SSW prepares post-MSWs to practice school social work.
This program consists of two online, 3-unit courses during summer.
Application Process
450 school-based MSW-level hours are required, across two age groups, with PPSC-SSW supervision. Complete the Certificate of Clearance process first, followed by the Evaluation Form and Activity Checklist.
