Throughout the year, Forever Humboldt Families hosts events and programs that connect families and supporters to the Cal Poly Humboldt community. 

FHF 101 Online Course

Forever Humboldt Families 101 is a free, online, 9-week course designed for new families to learn how to support their students while at Humboldt. As part of the course, you will earn a Cal Poly Humboldt sweatshirt for your student when you finish! Use this course as a tool to find information for campus resources and programming.

Family Ambassador Program

Peer to peer Family Ambassadors are a group of dedicated and enthusiastic parents, guardians, and family supporters of current and former Cal Poly Humboldt students. These volunteers represent Cal Poly Humboldt in their local communities and online by sharing personal experiences, answering questions from new and prospective families, connecting with other parents and family members - particularly those who are new to the Humboldt experience - and attending key events throughout the year.

If you decide to join the program we will provide you with all the tools, swag, training and information you’ll need to be a great Family Ambassador who spreads the word about what makes Humboldt special.

Family Insights

A monthly series of online conversations featuring a relevant campus department to provide you with the opportunity to learn from the experts in that office, as well as connect with other Cal Poly Humboldt families. To register for an upcoming session, check out upcoming events.

Regional Send-Off Picnics

Student Send-Off Picnics offer families and incoming students the chance to meet in their local areas in California and ask last-minute questions to Humboldt staff and Alumni before the start of the school year. These events also allow families to connect with other families by region and students can meet their peers and classmates, so connections are made before going to Humboldt. These picnics are scheduled for late summer so be on the lookout for your invite!

Lumberjack Weekend

Lumberjack Weekend is Cal Poly Humboldt’s long-standing celebration that brings together students, families, alumni, and the local community. The weekend is full of fun activities and special events for the entire Lumberjack Family. Mark your calendar for October and get ready for a fun and memorable time.
