About Kelda

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Environment and Community MA Program entails a wide variety of environmental themes that address diverse relationships amongst humans and their non-human relations and surroundings. I strongly believe that culture is prevention and that our ancestors had a great understanding of how to live in balance with the natural world. Indigenous people here in Round Valley, in California and across the continent have proved to be resilient and are reclaiming languages, ceremonies and other cultural practices. The interdisciplinary approaches offered by the program have been beneficial for curriculum development in my current capacity as an educator teacher and community member.

Thesis: Dinjik Enjit Nerrzhrii (We are Hunting for Moose): An Evaluation of Tribal Co-Management in the Yukon Flats, Interior Alaska
