About Yuliza

Why did you choose this program?

I have always been very interested in different cultures and languages, I thought choosing this program would be the best to learn more about the world.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

I am currently not working in my field, but I am still furthering my education by attending UCSD for my Spanish-English translation certification. INTL has various opportunities to learn about the world and how the workplace works. I took the career workshop and that really helped me think about what I wanted to do after college.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

Although I was unable to go abroad since I am a DACA student, I think one of the most rewarding experiences was learning about other countries not only through my assignments but also through my classmates.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

If you love and would like to know more about how the world functions, this is the program for you. If you love languages and cultures, this is the program for you! If you enroll in this program, you will have the best support system to graduate and even after your college career.

My fellow DACA students that are interested in this program, do not feel discouraged by the residency abroad requirement. I am DACA and I was able to graduate with a BA in INTL. It CAN be done, do not give up.
