Deborah Wynn (Graaff)

Deborah Wynn (Graaff), 2013 International Studies, got married and started medical school with her partner. She is currently in her third year and is preparing for the first step of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam before starting clinical rotations.
Dani Burkhart

Dani Burkhart, 2013 Environmental Science & Management, led Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Congressman Jared Huffman, Board of Equalization Members Fiona Ma and George Runner, Asm. Jim Wood and the Blue Ribbon Commission on a fact-finding tour of Humboldt County's Medical Cannabis farms and industry. Following that work, Emerald Heritage Farms was launched as a consulting firm to help the area's heritage cannabis farmers come into compliance with changing laws and regulations. Recently, Burkhart helped launch of the first Humboldt County Cannabis Chamber of Commerce building bridges between cannabis and non-cannabis based businesses in Humboldt County.

Evan Blair ('13, Political Science) earned an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2017. He is currently the Associate Director of Admissions at UC Davis Graduate School of Management.

Owen Jacob Krebs-Grimsich
International Studies, Focus in Globalization. Double minored in Spanish and Economics., 2013
Owen Jacob Krebs-Grimsich, 2013, International Studies, took his first International Studies class with Professor Suzanne Pasztor and was hooked right away. International Studies has enabled Krebs-Grimsich to travel and experience places in the world he would have never imagined. Krebs-Grimsich also became fluent in Spanish as part of the major’s foreign-language component. Krebs-Grimsich recently accepted an invitation from the Peace Corps to travel to Mozambique in 2014, where he will work on HIV Education/Prevention—an opportunity he credits to his experience in the International Studies program.
Jocelyn Keranen

Jocelyn Keranen, 2013 Geography, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, where she worked on agriculture and gender empowerment projects in a small village near the Great Rift Valley and Masai Steppe. After two years living in a village she added another year onto her service. Currently, Keranen is serving in Dar es Salaam as the National Malaria Coordinator. After my service, she plans on pursuing a Master’s of Public Health in Global Health

Jospeh has been working in the legal cannabis industry and has moved up to the buyer level at the company. My recreation degree aided me in having the leadership skills needed for such an important position.
Vanessa Crandell
Geology, Geology and Oceanography, 2013
Vanessa Crandell ('13, Geology, Oceanography) earned an M.S. in Geology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2016. She is currently working as an Environmental Geologist in Anchorage, Alaska. Vanessa primarily works on contaminated sites and geological and geotechnical projects. Amazing education and experiences in the field for both geology and oceanography provided her with the skill necessary to pursue a career as an Environmental Geologist. Vanessa would like to thank her professors and advisors - without their support and compassion, completing dual degrees in Geology and Oceanography would have been impossible.
Ryan Bieker
Politics, 2013
Ryan Bieker, 2013 Political Science, began working at the California Public Employee Retirement System as an associate governmental program analyst administering the affordable care act with public agencies and state departments. Bieker also provides customer education, retirement and health program counseling, and responses to customer inquiries.
