Michelle is an alumna of San Diego State where she graduated with a BS in Bilingual-Bicultural Education in 1991. Through an unusual turn of events she found herself in a 30 year career in technology working with Reporting and Analytics Software for companies including PeopleSoft, Oracle and Workday. Michelle came to Humboldt in 2005 and knew immediately that this was her forever home. She found an office on the 4th floor of the Jacoby Storehouse and from there started her career as a remote employee.
Michelle is now retired from the high tech world and finally able to do what she has been eager to do, focus on her community. Michelle and her wife Eden established the Donahue Joseph Scholarship Endowment to support students enrolled in the Nursing program at Cal Poly Humboldt. She is a Volunteer with the Arcata Fire District Logistics Unit and a CPR instructor. She is also very active in the Rotary Club of Arcata where she is helping create a strong relationship between the City of Arcata and the University.
