Olivia is driven to make a difference in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience. Thus far, Olivia has shown a commitment to her field by disseminating her research findings on a national level, advocating for those who are vulnerable, and serving as a member of the Diversity Equity Committee, Strategic Planning sub-committee, at the University of Miami. In terms of professional engagement, Olivia has a gift for communicating research in a way that is accessible to others.

Ms. Richardson has demonstrated professional commitment to Fisheries Biology and Applied Statistics since the Fall 2021. Madison has consistently supported other students by serving as a Statistics Tutor in the Learning Center, serving as the Treasurer of the American Fisheries Society's Humboldt Bay Student Subunit, working as a Hatchery Technician at the on-campus fish hatchery and Genetics student assistant, completing a NOAA internship, and presenting at conferences, while maintaining a GPA of 3.97 and earning Presidential Scholar status since 2021.

Karina Juarez passionately preserves and celebrates her heritage through visual art. As a ceramist, Juarez embraces the land through her Zapotec ancestry, tenderly connecting historical customs and symbols into clay through a contemporary lens rooted in colonial resistance. As both an artist and student, she is dedicated to sharing knowledge and expanding space for underrepresented artists in the field of ceramics.

Justin is both the club president and a team captain in only his second year with Humboldt Lacrosse. A transfer student from Santa Barbara City College, Justin stepped in a leadership role with the team from Day One, literally recruiting students in the dining hall before he had even ever practiced with the club. Since that very first practice, Justin has helped lead the team’s recruiting and outreach programs, and is always the first to meet prospects when they come on campus or act as an ambassador at public events.

India has made a difference on the Cal Poly Humboldt Campus with the ongoing student support she has provided to other students in a variety of contexts during the entire time she has been working towards her Bachelor’s Degree. Currently, India is working as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for students taking Botany 105. India’s role as a Supplemental Instruction(SI) Leader requires her to be responsible for leading two Credit/No Credit university classes a week that students enroll in, and she independently creates active-learning lesson plans for these sessions.
