Best Late Winter & Spring Walks in Humboldt County
Description
Brown Bag Lunch Online Presentation with Rees Hughes, Author, Hiking Humboldt: Volume 2 and Hiking Humboldt: Kids:
This talk will focus on a dozen or so walks (and drives) that are great ways to enjoy the outdoors, even if there is snow in the mountains and many trails are muddy.
Consider the new trails in the McKay Community Forest or the Ma-le'l Dunes or the wetlands walk around the McLean Foundation Campus in Fortuna, or the trail to McNulty Slough at the west end of Table Bluff.
Consider the Humboldt Botanical Garden or check out the trillium walk at the Humboldt Area Foundation.
Think about doing the Eureka Mural Walk or Ferndale Architectural Tour.
Take a full day to drive the loop to Fort Seward and Blocksburg or the Kneeland-Bridgeville Road.
The presenter will show photos and provide some directions and respond to questions. If you have a copy of Hiking Humboldt: Volume 2, have it with you!
Rees Hughes has been walking every corner of this magnificent county for many years — marveling at the incredible coastline, awe-inspiring forests, breath-taking rivers, and picturesque mountains and oak woodlands. He is involved with the Volunteer Trail Stewards and the Humboldt Trails Council.
The presentation will begin promptly at noon.
