Kate Lancaster, Ph.D., CPA, CPD, ISSP-SEA

Kate Lancaster retired as an associate professor from Cal Poly Humboldt, School of Business, where she taught sustainable business and accounting at the undergraduate and graduate level. 

She currently teaches part-time – sharing her passion for a more sustainable future with both undergraduate and graduate students. She has partnered with students on numerous projects that helped businesses and organizations explore and measure their sustainability (environmental, social, and economic) footprint. 

Kate currently serves as board treasurer for Cooperation Humboldt (CH) and is on the Supervisory Committee for Coast Central Credit Union. 

She has previously served on the board for Zero Waste Humboldt and the North Coast Coop. She was also a cooperative business advisor for Cooperation Humboldt and the North Coast Small Business Development Center and facilitated study groups for CH. 

She was actively involved in numerous Cal Poly Humboldt-related sustainability endeavors, and was involved in campus sustainability activities when she taught at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, as well as numerous organizations in the area.

 Kate is a small-scale permaculture gardener and herbalist, an avid and eclectic reader, and a life-long learner who enjoys long walks with her dogs in the Community Forest.
