A Photographic Exploration of Humboldt's Coastal Lagoons

Tues., Nov. 3, 2-4 p.m.

Time: 2-4 p.m.

Location: Online

Cost: $40

With Aldaron Laird, Environmental Planner/Photographer

This course is based on a newly published companion book to the instructor’s book, A Photographic Exploration of Wigi (currently called Humboldt Bay).

There are five lagoons north of Wigi and Sue-meg State Park in Humboldt County. This book explores their shorelines and their waters by kayak.

These are amazing public coastal waters with abundant and diverse wildlife. Together with Wigi, these are some of largest and most beautiful coastal lagoons in California. Hopefully this class will lead you to explore them.

Register by 12 p.m., October 31.

Aldaron Laird

As an environmental planner, Aldaron Laird focused on the enhancement/restoration of north coast waters and their vulnerability to sea level rise. As an avid kayaker and hiker over the last 20 years, he has explored and photographed Humboldt coastal waters at least a couple times a month. He recently published his first book, A Photographic Exploration of Wigi (currently called Humboldt Bay), and he is presently working with the University Press on a companion book, A Photographic Exploration of Yurok Coastal Waters.
