Destiney Alcaraz
Destiney reached out to Dr. Amber Gaffney to express her appreciation and share her experiences after graduation. Destiney took Social Psychology with Dr.Gaffney in the Fall of 2019 and worked beside her in the Social Identity Lab. After Graduation, Destiney moved to South Korea to become a teacher and has been there for two years. Destiney currently teaches 5-year-olds and states that living in South Korea has been such a wonderful experience and she applies everything that she learned from Dr. Gaffney every day. Destiney mentions that "Status is very important in South Korea and following the social norms and prototypical members is a must. Social identity is very very important in South Korea, whether it's with academia or just daily society. You'll see one person do a trend and next thing you know everyone is following."
