Redwood Writing Contest 2026

The Redwood Writing Contest invites students in grades 3-12 to submit original entries in the categories of personal essay, short story, or poetry. 

Each entry must be original for the current school year and awards will be given in each age group category. Winners will be published in and receive a free copy of the contest anthology and are invited to an awards ceremony. The top three entries overall are submitted to the statewide CATE Student Writing Showcase. 

Entries are due by April 15th, 2026. The use of Generative AI is NOT allowed for this contest. 

Super Saturdays

Super Saturdays is a series of five sessions facilitated by Redwood Writing Project Teacher Consultants.  

Each session focuses on current literacy topics of the facilitator's choice and offers opportunities for building knowledge as well as lesson planning and application.  

Literacy Conference 2026

This year's Literacy Conference is Saturday, March 14th, at Cal Poly Humboldt.
