California Writing Project Named a 2026 Library of Congress Literacy Awards Successful Practices Honoree
We are proud to announce that CWP has been selected as a 2026 Library of Congress Literacy Awards Successful Practices Honoree, recognizing our work to advance literacy through a statewide network of educators, teacher leaders, and community partners.
Announced on International Literacy Day, September 8, the recognition honors CWP for its comprehensive reach, replicable model, and commitment to community-responsive literacy education. CWP is one of 12 organizations recognized this year for the successful implementation of literacy practices.This national recognition celebrates the collective work of CWP sites and educators across California who are building vibrant communities of writers, supporting teachers of writing, and creating literacy opportunities that respond to the needs and strengths of their local communities.
